Modifying the Search Sort Order

After running a search, you can modify the sort order by clicking the "Sort" drop-down located between the filter carousel and the first search result, on the right side of the page.

For data that was imported using the Database Import workflow, you should see an option to sort by the imported Beg Bates field:

In the first step of a full production download, you can change the sort order using the "Sort By" drop-down menu.

ℹ️ You also have the option to create a custom sort for your download, whereby you can sort your documents by a variety of fields, including document tags. See the video below for a walk-through.

Family considerations

ℹ️ Sort orders marked with an asterisk (*) will break families up; i.e., emails will likely be separated from their attachments (The only sort orders that keep families together are Family Date and Filepath). Imported Bates depends purely on the sort order of the production.

Name (a-z)*	Sorts documents in the alphabetical order of the file name, a to z.
Name (z-a)*	Sorts documents in the alphabetical order of the file name, z to a.
Document Date (asc)*	Sorts documents in chronological order based on the individual document date, oldest to newest.
Document Date (desc)*	Sorts documents in chronological order based on the individual document date, newest to oldest.
Family Date (asc)	Sorts documents in chronological order based on the parent document date, oldest to newest, followed by the child document(s).
Family Date (desc)	Sorts documents in chronological order based on the parent document date, newest to oldest, followed by the child document(s).
Size (asc)*	Sorts documents in order of file size, smallest to largest.
Size (desc)*	Sorts documents in order of file size, largest to smallest.
Filepath (a-z)	Sorts documents in the alphabetical order of the file path, starting with the root folder, a to z.

Imported Beg Bates (a-z) Only available for documents uploaded as a Data Import.	Sorts documents by imported Beg Bates number, (a to z) prefix and smallest to largest numbers within each alpha prefix.
