The following instructions are for editing an existing custodian name in either a File Upload or a Cloud Upload. Logikcull does not currently support reassigning a custodian. You'll find more information on the difference below.
Edit a Custodian Name
Steps:
Navigate to the Uploads tab
Locate an upload with the custodian you want to edit
Click the three dots on the far right of the upload card
Select Rename custodian
Edit the custodian name and click Save Changes
Editing a custodian name v. Reassigning a custodian
Editing a custodian name (supported)
You perform the following uploads:
Upload 1: assigned custodian Adam Lie
Upload 2: assigned custodian Adam Lie
Upload 3: assigned custodian Carl Sims
Upload 4: assigned custodian Adam Lie
After uploading the data you notice that Adam's last name is misspelled and should be "Adam Lye". Use Logikcull's renaming feature and follow the instructions above (selecting either upload 1, 3, or 4) to edit Adam's last name. The end result will be:
Upload 1: assigned custodian Adam Lye
Upload 2: assigned custodian Adam Lye
Upload 3: assigned custodian Carl Sims
Upload 4: assigned custodian Adam Lye
Reassigning a custodian (not supported)
You perform the following uploads:
Upload 1: assigned custodian Adam Lye
Upload 2: assigned custodian Adam Lye
Upload 3: assigned custodian Carl Sims
Upload 4: assigned custodian Adam Lye
After uploading the data you're informed that uploads 2 and 4 should have been assigned to different custodians:
Upload 1: assigned custodian Adam Lye
Upload 2: assigned custodian Burt Sims
Upload 3: assigned custodian Carl Sims
Upload 4: assigned custodian David Small
In this scenario, using the renaming feature to edit the custodian name to "Burt Sims" for Upload 2 would change the custodian name to "Burt Sims" for Uploads 1, 2, and 4 because all three uploads were originally assigned to the same custodian.
In the scenario above, uploads 2 and 4 would need to be deleted and re-uploaded and the correct custodian assignment will take place during upload.
